NOTE - The occupational listing as "servant" is certainly puzzling. It was unusual for an adult male to be a servant; perhaps he served for another household but lived in his own house with his wife.

I'm not 100% positive that this is actually "John Gaylord Girton", although some sources give his middle initial as "G". In addition, he was living in the same township and county as several of his siblings which makes it highly probable that they were the same person.
