1 7 Oscar Cline, 76, of 1313 Ashmun Street, died 8:20 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 1988, at Burlington Medical Center.
Born April 11, 1911, in North Town, Kentucky, he was the son [of] James Herman and Bessie Bell Cline. He married Florence Grimes June 24, 1941, in Kahoka, Missouri.
He was employed as an ironworker and millwright foreman with the Iowa Army Ammunition Plant, Middletown, before retiring after 19 years. He was also employed with the Nurrey Glass Company, Burlington. He was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church and Union Local 577 of the Ironworkers.
Surviving are his wife; five sons, Lee Cline, New London, and Oscar Cline Jr., George "Butch" Cline, Gary Cline and James Michael Cline, all of Burlington; two stepsons, Robert Ostdick, Ottumwa, and Richard Ostdick, Davenport; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Monday at Prugh's Chapel.
The service for Mr. Cline will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Prugh's Chapel with the Reverend Paul Richmond officiating. Burial will be in Aspen Grove Cemetery.
