"The will of Winchester Moherman, late of Austintown township, was filed for probate last week, and in addition deeds for some 1,000 acres of land from him to his children and grandchildren were placed on record. The deeds to the property were signed in 1888, while the will was made in April of this year.
It provides that all real estate not held in escrow be divided between Leander, his son, Sarah Starr, Maud Moherman and Blanche Woodward.
In lieu of her interest in this estate the wife, Samantha, is to have all household goods and provisions and the dwelling house at Austintown for her life. What is left at her death goes to Sarah Starr and Blanche Woodward.
During her life the wife gets the dividends from stock holder in the Commercial and First National banks of this city and the Farmers' National Bank of Canfield. At her death his daughter, Blanche Woodward, is to receive the dividends from the Farmers' National Bank and $2,000 of the Commercial National Bank stock until her death, when it is to be divided between her children. Maud Moherman and Mrs. Moherman are to occupy the homestead for a period of three years.
Austintown property held in escrow for Blanche Woodward has the coal rights reserved on it. If the trustees, Maud S. Moherman and Clifford Starr, so decide the coal may be mined and the proceeds paid to Blanche Woodward.
The proceeds of the Bristol farm go to Maud S. Moherman until 1918, when it goes to the children of Leander Moherman. Harry L. Moherman is given 48 acres in Boardman with Emery F. Lynn as trustee.
All moneys, stocks and credits are given to Maud Moherman and Sarah Starr, providing they give bond for $2,000 to erect a monument worth $1,000 within a year. A contest of the will invalidates all bequests."
Comment: Winchester Moherman and his son Leander and his son-in-law Henry Neff Starr were original 1887stock holders in the Farmer's National Bank of Canfield, Mahoning Co. OH. Winchester held 30 shares. (500 shares were issued at $100 per share).

"Men at work grading what will be known as Lockwood Road, starting at Starr's Corners, 2 ½ Miles east of Canfield, and diagonally running to Mill Creek park. The land thru which the road passes and takes its name was the Lockwood farm, the owner many years ago a prominent resident of Boardman township. The old farm house fronting on Tippecanoe road long since was razed, there now being little or no evidence of it ever having existed. The land for half a century or more belonged to the late Winchester Moherman and after his death passed to his descendants. It is likely the new road will be completed this year and will mean another scenic highway to the metropolis."
