• Her obituary was published in the Unknown newspaper in October 1939 in Oregon.

Tillamook people were saddened when word of the passing of Mrs. Connie Dye at the Charlton hospital, on Sunday, October 29, became known through the community. She had been a resident of the county all of the 54 years of her life and was greatly beloved.

Fannie Ethel Lyster, daughter of Edmund and Rilda Lyster, was born at Hemlock, Oregon, on January 3, 1885, attended the Hemlock school and on August 24, 1904, was married to Connie L. Dye at Hemlock. They have resided in the county all of their married life, owning a lovely home a short distance south of Tillamook. Two children Ethel and Cecil blessed this home .

Mrs. Dye was a member of the United Brethren church, uniting with the church at Beaver in 1905. She was also a faithful member of the Relief Corps and the Townsend club.

She was a cheerful, helpful wife and a splendid mother, taking great delight in the companionship of her family. Her warm friendships and her enjoyment in life about her and her willingness to help in any worthy cause, her bravery in illness, her wonderful ability to see the bright side of life and to appreciate God's wonderful blessings will never be forgotten. Her children, her husband and scores of friends will greatly miss her.

She leaves to mourn her less her husband, Connie L. Dye, her daughter, Mrs. Ethel Lyster, her son, Cecil and one grandson, Connie Lee Dye, also three brothers, A. B. Lyster, Robin Lyster of Bradwood, Oregon, and Ted Lyster, San Francisco, California. A brother Lee and sister Gertrude preceded her in death.

Funeral services were held in the Methodist church in Tillamook Tuesday afternoon, October 31, with services conducted by Rev. B. Rose Evans, a former pastor in Tillamook, and music by a quartette composed of Mrs. G. H. Ward, Mrs. Harold Newman, Miss Vonda Biddle, and Mrs. Earl McNeil, with Mrs. Clarence Arney, acting as accompanist. The church was filled to overflowing with friends and relatives and a great abundance of flowers testified to the love and regard in which Mrs. Dye was held in the community.

Her body was laid to rest in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery at Tillamook with Arthur G. Magnuson of Booth, George Reichers, Bird McBee, Carl Hunt, Fred McKinley and District Anderson serving as bearers.
