Minnie M. Wirick ^{1 2 3}

  General Notes:

Her name and date of birth could be confusing. There is a birth register document from Hillsdale County, Michigan which gives her name as Minnie Wirick and her birth date as 1 Nov 1878. All other information on the register seems correct such as the names of the parents, their birth locations, and the actual date the register page was created.

However, there was a "Minnie" Wirick that was listed with her parents on the 1870 US Census making the birth year of 1878 seemingly impossible.

The 1880 US Census explains it all. There were two different daughters, one named Mina and one named Minnie listed at the same time on the 1880 census record. Where some of the confusion comes from is that Mina, who was born in Oct 1866, was listed on the 1870 US Census as "Minnie" before the other younger daughter, Minnie, was even born.

If one just ignores the use of the name "Minnie" on the 1870 US Census, and uses the name of "Mina" on that record then everything is perfectly clear.

Minnie married Oliver Howard Vernier, son of Frederick Pierre Vernier and Francis Beuchler, on 24 December 1899 in Prattville, MI.¹ (Oliver Howard Vernier was born on 14 December 1880 in Archbold, OH ^{1 4} and died on 13 May 1966 in Waldron, MI ⁴.)
