Hiram Brittain

  General Notes:

The child's name of Hiram Brittain may occasionally be shown by some researchers but based on several factors, I believe the birth record which supposedly shows his name was a mistaken entry and should have shown the name of Binnie Martha Brittain. For some reason, the clerk wrote in the name of the father, Hiram, instead of the name of the child, Binnie.

The birth year of 1869 was referenced by Binnie when she married Orlando Benner in 1918 and gave her age as 49.

The 1870 US Census does not list the name of Hiram Brittain with the family when he would have been about 1 year old. Instead it shows the name of Binnie with an age of 1.

There are no other documents for such as child as Hiram Brittain but there are several later documents for Binnie all of which reference a birth year of 1869.
