  Burial Notes:

The gravestone for Ella is supposedly at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Stanton, Michigan and there is a photograph of the stone on the FindAGrave memorial page. At the top of the inscription is the name of Frank S. Krebs who was the older brother of Ella but he died at the age of 16 in 1887. Under his name is Ella's name with the born and died dates following. But strangely underneath that are the words "At Rest --- At Eau Claire". There is no mention of her married name of Carey.

There is no further information about the meaning of "At Eau Claire". I'm not sure if it means that she was not actually buried there in Stanton. There is a village with the name of Eau Claire in Berrien County, Michigan about 140 miles away from Stanton, Michigan but FindAGrave does not list any Careys or Krebs to be buried in any of the local cemeteries there.

There is an Eau Claire, Wisconsin which has a Forest Hill Cemetery and there are some Carey and Krebs people buried there but it is not known if any of them are related. Ella's husband, William Henry Carey and some of their children lived in areas around LaCrosse, Wisconsin which is about 90 miles from Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

Ella married Joseph William Henry Carey, son of Joseph Moon Carey and Mary Letitia Sanders, on 13 July 1886 in Stanton, MI.¹ (Joseph William Henry Carey was born on 7 December 1863 in Minnesota,¹ died on 29 March 1938 ¹ and was buried after 29 March 1938 in Spring Valley Cemetery, Spring Valley, MN ¹.)
