  General Notes:

Mary's birth location might be a matter of discussion. Most researchers show a birth location of Grayson County, Kentucky but none provide any source documentation to prove it. Her father was from Tennessee and her mother was from Kentucky. They were married in December of 1869 according to the 1870 census of Pleasant Gap, Bates County, Missouri. I'm not sure of the exact marriage location but as of 20 Jun 1870, both parents were living in Missouri. Apparently, John's older brother was also living there at the time.

I can not find Mary's parents with any certainty until they appear in the 1900 census in Klamath County, Oregon living in the same general area as their married daughter, Mary, and her husband Enoch Williams. In that 1900 census, Mary gave her birth location as Missouri. In addition, she also gave Missouri as her birth location in the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census.

Based on those facts, I believe that her correct birth location should be Missouri instead of Grayson County, Kentucky.

NOTE - Linkville was the original name of Klamath Falls. The name was changed around 1893 but apparently there was still a small pocket that retained the old name. Even in today's modern times, the name of Linkville appears in many commercial ventures in Klamath Falls.
