George married Penelope Lightfoot, daughter of William Lightfoot and Esther Schmidt, on 13 April 1824 in Shrewsbury, PA.1 2 9 (Penelope Lightfoot was born on 9 August 1804 in Codorus Township, York, PA 1 6 9 and died between 1842 and 1850 in North Woodbury, OH 9.)

bullet  Marriage Notes:

E-mail from Keith A. Dull:
George and Perneleper were married in York County in 1824. Probably in Shrewsbury Township where Perneleper was living with John and Margaret Gerberich. For the first few years, they lived near Brodbecks, and then bought a farm at York. They remained there for a few more years before moving to North Woodbury, Ohio (Morrow, Perry Township). They had several children: Leah, Carl, John Lightfoot (my ancestor), Hannah, Margaret, George, and Cassie. Perneleper died in North Woodbury between 1840 and 1850, and George died there in 1858. It would appear that Perneleper did not have much to do with her family after being indentured.
