(Matilda was widowed and living with 2 sons and 1 granddaughter.)

NOTE - If her birth date was 26 May 1836, then her age should have been 64 instead of 63.

NOTE - The surname of the granddaughter is very difficult to read. It appear to be Deohrn but there is a gap between the "Deor" and the "hn" with what appears to be an erasure. Trying to figure out who the parents would be is equally difficult. Assuming that the father must be one of Matilda's son because of the granddaughter's surname, that narrows the choices to James, John, or Edward. James was married in 1892 and since the granddaughters birth year was in 1889, he probably is not the father. John and Edward would have been far too young to be the father of Maudie. Based on the birth location of Indiana for the father of the granddaughter, James remains the only likely candidate to be the father of the granddaughter.

Another possibility is that the granddaughter could be an illegitimate child of any of the daughters. Based on the birth location of Ohio for the mother of the granddaughter, either Alice, Mary, or Anna could be the mother. There just is not enough information to know for sure who the parents of the granddaughter could have been.
