bullet  General Notes:

Martin genealogy "Our Roots" by William Hunt:
Jacob Martin served an apprenticeship in wagon making in his father's shop in Mount Pleasant. He built simple functional, and beautifully finished wood furniture for his living quarters. He later in life worked as a carpenter. He could play the violin. His parents cared for his children for several years after his wife passed away. Later, the oldest daughter was placed in the home of Aunt Mary Schaeffer while the two youngest children were placed in the home of George and Lucinda Bower. Jacob and his wife are buried in St. Johns Cemetery near Lewisberry, York County, Pennsylvania.
