Well Known Nankin Resident Answers Death Summons--Funeral Sunday.

Mrs. Catherine Stentz passed away at her home in Nankin Thursday evening at 8:30 o'clock after a long illness, part of which time she had been invalided to her bed. she was in her 85th years.

Mrs. Catherine Stentz was born in Orange township February 7, 1836, the daughter of Wesley and Mary Richards. Her father and mother were pioneer settlers of this section of the state emigrating from Maryland in covered wagons and securing a tract of land near the present village of Nankin from the government. It was here that Mrs. Stentz spent her girlhood days. In December, 1866, she was married to Edwin Stentz, a veteran of the Civil War and a member of Co. K, O.V.I. Her husband preceded her in death, passing away August 19, 1906. Mrs. Stentz had been a resident of Orange township all her life. She leaves one daughter Miss Minnie Stentz of Nankin, and many relatives and other friends to mourn her loss.
