• His obituary was published in the Unknown newspaper after 19 August 1905 in Ashland County, OH.

¹⁰ Edwin Stentz, after a lingering illness, died Friday night. Funeral services were held Sunday from the M.E. Church [Methodist Evangelical Church of Orange (Nankin)] and were conducted by Rev. J.E. Ferguson in the presence of a large audience. The following obituary notice was read from the pulpit:
Edwin D. Stentz was born in Monongalia County, Virginia, February 10th, 1836, and died August 19, 1905, aged 64 years, 6 months and 9 days. He came to Ohio with his parents in 1852. He enlisted August 7, 1862, as corporal in Company K, 102 O.V.I., and was promoted to sergeant July 1, 1864, and was honorably discharged with the company June 30, 1865, on account of close of war. Mr. Stenz was married December 30, 1866, to Kate Richards, who with one daughter, Minnie, mourn the loss of a devoted husband and father. He was converted and united with this church in 1872 and had been a faithful member ever since.
