Reta Pearl Hathaway Van Horn, 90, of Grantsville, died Tuesday, May 13, 20 03, at Delmar Gardens On the Green, Chesterfield, Mo.

She was born on Pine Creek, the daughter of the late Curtis and Hattie Hathaway. In the 1950s, the family owned a restaurant and raised broilers on their farm. She worked at Rubber Fabricators as a supervisor until retirement. She belonged to Rebekah Lodge and Eastern Star, and was a Calhoun Homemakers Club belle and a 50-year member. She was a member of Prosperity Baptist Church.

Surviving are one son, Earl Thomas Van Horn of Ballwin, Mo.; two half-brothers, Charles and Darrell Hathaway; one half-sister, Dixie Greg; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Leavy Oressie Van Horn, and one son, Donald Oral Van Horn.

Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Kenneth Heiney officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.
