George was buried in Forest Hills Cemetery in Sumner County, Kansas. Several other people had been buried on private land, then later placed in the cemetery when it was donated to the community by a Mr. Arnspiger on the family homestead. It was then named Arnspiger Cemetery. This donation was prompted by the death of George Arnspiger, age 20 years, 11 months, 20 days. He died on May 4, 1878. In 1891, the name was changed to Forest Hills Cemetery.

George's gravestone is a vaulted top column of gray granite with a decorative letter A cut into the top faces. On the polished vertical edge, the inscription reads "George W., son of H. & M. J. Arnspiger, Died May 4, 1878, Aged 20y 11m 20d". The base of gray granite also has the name ARNSPIGER carved in relief using large block letters.
