Captain William Petrasek, age 89, of Highlands entered peacefully into the presence of our Lord on Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at Manchester Manor, Manchester. He was the owner of the Montauk Boat Basin which was later sold to his brother District and wife Doris and is known as Doris N Ed's Seafood Restaurant. It was sold after Ed's death in 1983. He was the captain of The Highlander party fishing boat for many years. He later gave up deep sea fishing for a commercial lobster business. He was also a tug boat captain who daily brought the workers to the statue of Liberty for the renovation in 1985. After his retirement he worked for Middletown Public Works until leaving when he was 84. Mr. Petrasek is predeceased by his wife Bernice in 1999, his parents Joseph and Krystyna, his sister Mary Garber, a daughter Kathleen in 2005 and 2 brothers Rudolph and Edward Petrasek. He is survived by daughter Laurie Whitfield, Highlands, daughter and son-in-law Linda and Reed Lundin, Manchester, Joseph McGowan, Keansburg; 7 Grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. All services will be private. ![]() • He was buried after 8 May 2007 in the Fair View Cemetery in Middletown, NJ. ![]() William married Bernice Catherine Drugan, daughter of David Glenn Drugan Sr. and Lena Louise Hanson, on 25 July 1942 in San Diego, CA.2 (Bernice Catherine Drugan was born on 26 January 1915 in Winona, MN,2 9 10 11 12 13 died on 30 November 1999 in Red Bank, NJ 2 13 and was cremated after 30 November 1999 in Leonardo, NJ 13.). The cause of her death was Lung, Bone, and Liver Cancer.
