• Her obituary was published in the Winona Republican-Herald on 30 November 1936 in Galesville, WI.

9 Funeral services were conducted today for Miss Sarah Hanson, 75, who died Friday. Late last June, Miss Hanson fainted in the Galesville post office, evidently overcome by the heat, and in the fall fractured a leg. She was given hospital care and recovered from that mishap but her health failed rapidly during the last few months.

Services were conducted at the Hamre funeral home by the Rev. L. S. J. Reque and burial was at Trempealeau, her former home. Pallbearers were Theodore Scarseth, Vilas Kellman, F. A. Kellman, J. A. Hammer, Leonard Klandrud, and R. A. Smith.

Miss Hanson was born in Norway February 8, 1861. She came to America in early life and lived for many years at Trempealeau. She moved to Galesville several years ago to keep house for a brother, Hans, who preceded her in death, as did a brother Louis of Trempealeau. The only immediate relative left in this vicinity is a nephew.
