Kenneth Drugan, acting president of the village board here, who has operated a grocery store the past two years in Trempealeau, has sold the business to James Cram of Galesville. The new owner expects to take possession about April 1. He has been connected with a grocery firm at Galesville for a number of years.

Two workmen were seriously burned in an explosion which occurred at the Caledonia Consolidated School Tuesday August 15. The men, Kenneth Drugan and Edwin Ryder, were using an electric varnish remover on the floors when the accident took place. The resulting fire completely demolished the building. The picture of the school and account of the fire was given in the Galesville Republican.

A stone spun from the blades of a power mower, hit curbing or a tree and ricocheted into Kenneth Drugan's left eye. Drugan, who was riding the mower over his lawn, was treated by a doctor Saturday. Pain became severe Sunday, and he has admitted to Lutheran Hospital Monday. He has remained there several days.

A 37-year-old blind man, Raymond Manchuk, was struck by the school car driven by Kenneth Drugan, school custodian, late Wednesday afternoon.
The accident occurred on the park road about one block from Manchuk's home. He was reported to be walking on the wrong side of the road. Drugan tried to avoid him but couldn't because of high drifts and the slippery condition.
Manchuk received a fracture of the left arm, was taken to a Galesville doctor and transferred to St. Francis Hospital, La Crosse.
Manchuk frequently walks on Trempealeau streets with his white cane.

Marriage Notes:
A "Tom Thumb" wedding was enjoyed Saturday at the Methodist Church dining room here by friends and relatives of Miss Elvira Munkeby who is to be married to Kenneth Drugan of Trempealeau at the Trinity Lutheran Church, La Crosse, Wis., the evening of June 13. While the assembled guests a waited the entrance of the little minister, Billy Smith, six, they were entertained by a vocal selection "At Dawning" by Mrs. Clarence Petersen. Other participants in the wedding ceremony were Kenneth Hovel, bridegroom; William Osley, best man; Theresa Knapper and Neva Oyer, flower girls; Dale Campbell, ring bearer; Robbie Lou Campbell, Jean Trowbridge, Charlotte Wachter, Betty Slocum, Loretta Drugan, and Joyce Swartling bridesmaids; Ruthie Winslow, maid of honor, and Nancy Putnam, bride.
Nancy was attired in a white satin dress with train. A waist length veil framed her face. Her bouquet was of pink tea roses. Kenneth wore a black swallow tail coat and gray striped trousers. Ruthie Winslow was dressed in green organdy over green satin and carried a bouquet of lilacs. She wore a green poke bonnet. The bridesmaids wore pale blue, pink, and yellow organdy with poke bonnets to match, and carried lilies of the valley.
Dale Campbell was dressed in a white satin suit and carried the ring on a small satin pillow. The wedding party proceeded to the altar during the playing of the wedding march by Mrs. Peterson. "Let Me Call You Sweetheart" and Mendelssohn's wedding march provided additional music.
Tommy Kinney, dressed in a red cape and beret, heralded in four small girls, Beverly Liebbaacken, Rose and Lorraine Davis and Margaret Jessessky who carried a huge May basket, decorated in green and white, containing the gifts. As they carried the basket they sang "Dear Teacher" composed by Mrs. Mack Winslow. Miss Munkeby received the gifts in a garden lattice bower, trimmed with climbing roses.
Miss Munkeby is the first grade teacher at the Healy Memorial School.
Out of town guests were Mrs. N. B. Munkeby, Mrs. C. O. Swennes and daughter Myrtle and Miss Agnes Graf of La Crosse, Wis., Mrs. Michael Sonsolla, Mrs. Joseph Hamernik and daughter Geraldine of Winona, and Mrs. Ole Peterson of Hastings, Minn. Refreshments were served.
