bullet  General Notes:

Like her husband, Mary's actual birth year is questionable. While it seemed common practice for women during those times to understate their age, some of the census source would indicate that she might have been overstating her age.

The 1870 US Census provides a birth year of about 1844.
The 1880 US Census provides a birth year of about 1841.
The 1900 US Census provides a birth month and year of Feb 1837.
The 1910 US Census provides a birth year of about 1839.
The 1920 US Census provides a birth year of about 1840.

The median year of birth would seem to be about 1840. But because she specifically provided "Feb 1837" on the 1900 US Census, a date which would make her older than a birth year of 1840, something that goes against the convention of understating her real age, that date within 1837 is probably the most likely one to be correct.
