In the 1928 City Directory, Arthur's occupation was listed as janitor at the Courthouse. When Arthur and Cora were married in 1916 his occupation was listed as an engineer. His death certificate list him as a retired Richland County employee. In 1913 through 1915 Arthur mowed the Windsor-Woodhouse Cemetery to make extra money. On February 2, 1921 Arthur and John Zediker bought Cemetery plot in the Windsor-Woodhouse Cemetery for $25. The cemetery was dedicated in 1824 and originally called Bostock; then it was called Woodhouse, then Windsor.

Arthur's exact birth year is somewhat of a mystery. There was a Richland County birth entry made for him showing 26 Dec 1884 as his birthday. That record is probably the most reliable assuming that no errors were made in the transcription.

On the 1900 Census, he provided a birth date of Dec 1883. That is the only record which shows that year and is therefore probably the least reliable.

There is a birth date of 21 Dec 1885 offered by his death certificate but those dates are always provided by relatives or others and are subject to many errors. The 1930 Census also seems to support a birth year of 1885 depending upon how accurate the enumerator may have been.
