Shafer David Groff 1 2 Born: Abt 1844 Marriage (1): Sarah Catherine Shafer on 10 May 1887 in , Frederick County, MD 1 2 Died: Bef 1 June 1900 David married Sarah Catherine Shafer, daughter of John Randolph Shafer and Mary Catherine Routzahn, on 10 May 1887 in , Frederick County, MD.1 2 (Sarah Catherine Shafer was born on 31 December 1849 in , Frederick County, MD 1 2 3 4 5 6, baptized on 20 May 1850 in Middletown, MD 1 and died on 26 August 1909 in , Frederick County, MD 2.)   Marriage Notes: David and Sarah had one son, Edward, who was born 15 years before they eventually married in 1887. For that reason, the illegitimate son bears the surname of his mother, Shafer, instead of Groff. They also had a daughter, Anna C. who was not born until 1888 which was after they were supposedly born in 1887 but for some reason, that daughter also bears the surname of Shafer instead of Groff. -----------------------------------------
