 Another name for Robert was Robert Vincent Darner.3
General Notes:
His middle name was probably "Vincent" instead of the name "Vinson" as suggested by several researchers. This is supported by the Draft Registration Card for his son James Andrew Darner which shows his father's name as Robert Vincent Darner. James signed the card right below his father's name and made no changes to the spelling. However, the California Death Index does show his name as Robert Vinson Darner. It is not known who supplied the name as Vinson or if this could be a transcription error in the Death Index database or a mistake on the Draft Registration Card.

Robert must have liked "young" wives. His first wife about 15 years old when he was 19. His second wife was only 14 when he was 25. His third wife was 37 years old while he was 48.
He had 2 children with his first wife, 8 with his second wife, and 3 with his third wife. The two daughters from his first wife are not found in any other documents for Robert so if he was divorced from his first wife, then he apparently had little to do with her or their children thereafter.
It is interesting to note that he married his first wife in Storey County, Iowa and he remained there for at least 4 years because his second daughter was born there in 1897. Within the next two years, he ended up in Oklahoma Territory where he married his second wife in 1899.
By 1920 the family had moved to Colorado. His 2nd wife, Minnie Like(s), died in 1921 and by 1922 Robert Darner had returned back to Storey County, Iowa where he married his third wife, Amelia Lovejoy. After a few more years in Iowa, he then moved to Missouri and then onto Kansas where he and his third wife were found in the 1930 census along with 2 children from his 2nd marriage, 3 children from his current wife, and 3 step-children from his wife's previous marriage.
In 1940 Robert shows up in the central valley of northern California where several of his married sons had also relocated. He died there in 1953 and both he and his 3rd wife are buried in Modesto, California.

The Acacia Memorial Park is also known as: Acacia Memorial Park Association of Modesto, Masonic Cemetery.
Established in 1872 as the "Masonic Cemetery", "Acacia Memorial Park" has since expanded to incorporate the "Odd Fellows Cemetery" (1920's), the "Pine Trees" section along Bodem Street (1960) and Stanislaus County property near the corner of Scenic and Bodem Streets (early 1990's). Renamed "Acacia Memorial Park" in 1964, it is currently administered by the "Acacia Memorial Park Association of Modesto" under the auspices of Modesto Lodge #206 F. & A.M.
