NOTE - At first glance this census listing may appear confusing with all the similar surnames. The explanation is simple: the mother Susan C. Fast had married Amos Elliott who was previously married and had at least two sons. Amos Elliott died sometime before 1900. His widow, Susan Fast, had a daughter, Susan L. Robinson, who married one of Amos' sons. They are all living together so this explains why Susan C. Elliott is shown as the mother (should have stated "mother-in-law"). Also living with them was Susan Fast's other daughter, Dixie Belle Robinson who was a sister to Susan L. Elliott but was listed as a "boarder" (should have stated "sister-in-law"). In addition, there was one of Amos' other sons living there, James S. Elliott, who was the brother of Jacob T. Elliott.

  Marriage Notes:

Jacob and Susan Lulu along with Amos had moved to Douglas Washington and that's where they were at the time of the census. They came back to Illinois and great grandpa Jacob died in Calhoun in 1918. I do not know when Susan died. She had remarried but my grandmother did not tell my mom about her second husband only that she had seen his obituary in a paper and should have gone to his funeral. Most of the Elliott kids lived in Louisiana, MO after they were grown or the nearby vicinity. Karl died when mom was little or maybe even before she was born.
