James Shores..26..IL..School Teacher
Eliza I. Shores..20..IL

NOTE - The surname of James and Eliza is difficult to read. It most likely appears to Shores but could also possibly be Jones, or even Thomas. And because the 1850 census did not provide relationships, I can only suspect that James married one of the sisters of either Alfred or Martha who was named Eliza I., and James and Eliza were living with them. I can find no record of Alfred having a younger brother named James and there seems to be practically no research on Martha's parents or possible siblings. Therefore, the exact relationship of James and Eliza remains unknown to me.
