³ Alvin Joseph Darner, 83, of Ottumwa, died at home after a long illness.

He was born in Des Moines to Rev. Joseph Andrew and Rose Zehlia Eldridge Darner.

A resident of Ottumwa all of his life, he was a member of First Church of the Open Bible, having attended since 1933.

Surviving is a sister, Arletta Rose Darner of Ottumwa; two brothers, George Francis Darner of St. James, MO and Robert Andrew Darner of Ames.

He was preceded in death by his twin sister, Eloine Louise Darner.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at Reece Funeral Home with Rev. Bill Hornback officiating.
