5 Mrs. E. P. Homes Dies At Home Near La Plata Sunday Night at 10:45
Passes Away on Farm Where She Located as a Bride on September 16, 1891

Mrs. Mollie Homes, wife of E. P. Homes, a prosperous farmer of Wilson township, passed away at her home three miles northeast of La Plata, on Jan. 8, 1922 at 10:45 p.m. of a complication of diseases.

While Mrs. Homes had been in poor health for two years the end came as a shock to her family and friends as she had been attending to her regular duties until Friday night when she became quite ill.

Mrs. Homes was the daughter of J. H. and Susan Turner, and was born Dec. 19, 1866, near Madison, Monroe County, Mo., moving with her parents to this county when only nine years of age. She was married to E. P. Homes, Sept. 16, 1891, having spent her entire married life on the same farm where she was taken when a bride.

To this union were born two daughters and one son, Alpha or Mrs. Glen Crawford of La Plata, Parker and Miss Gladys both at home.

Besides her husband and children, she leaves an aged mother, Mrs. Susan Turner, three brothers and two sisters and a host of other relatives and friends who will mourn her passing.

Mrs. Homes united with the Presbyterian Church early in life and remained faithful to her early convictions.

Her funeral was held from the home this morning at 11 o'clock, conducted by Rev. E. E. DeLong, pastor of the Community Presbyterian Church of La Plata.

Mrs. Homes was a devoted wife and mother and a good neighbor, and as such will be greatly missed. The sympathy of the entire community goes out to this bereaved family.
