1 Andrew D. Lightfoot, 78, of 2910 Shady Grove Road, Eau Claire, passed away at Lakeside Nursing and Rehabilitation, Chippewa Falls, Thursday, Feb 5, 1998.

Andrew was born Dec 8, 1919 in Eau Claire to Charles and Rosalie (Stoop) Lightfoot and served his country during World War II with the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific from 1942-1946. He attended schools here in Eau Claire before his enlistment.

He was married to the former La Rayne Shockman in Chicago, Feb 16, 1946. He worked for F. E. Grosvold Plumbing Company for 29 years, retiring in 1983. He was a member of Union Local 385 and Ducks Unlimited. He and his wife were charter members of Saint Olaf Catholic Church.

Andrew had a love for our environment and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also played a fair game of golf and during their wintering in Arizona, he was on the links a great deal of time.

He is survived by his wife, La Rayne, two daughters, Mary Lightfoot of Menomonie and Susan (Vic) Lightfoot-Palomar of Eau Claire; two sons, Chuck (Pat) or Caro, Michigan and Mark (Bev) of Wilson, Wisconsin.; two sisters, Anastasia Bacher of Eau Claire and Hazel Lightfoot of Eagleton; a brother, James of Altoona; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and numerous relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:30 AM Monday at Saint Olaf's Catholic Church, with the Rev. Frank Corradi officiating. Burial will be in Forest Hill Cemetery.

His pallbearers will be his grandchildren Tim and Chris Lightfoot, John Graziano, Aaron and Andrew Holm, and his godchild Tim Malnory.

Friends may call one hour before services Monday at the church. There will be no visitation on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to Saint Olaf's Building Fund.

Golden Funeral Home, 622 Wisconsin Street is serving the family.
