bullet  General Notes:

The Eau Claire City Directories show Rosalie's name spelled in different ways, usually Rosalie, Rose, Rosalee or something similar.
----------------------------------------

Rosalie Stoops was adopted and raised by her stepfather Sam Bluestone. Her true father was Thomas Stoops and he was buried in Veteran's Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri.
----------------------------------------

According to Beverly Morgenstern, Rose has US Lineal Descent from May 20, 1886 Minnesota Mdewakanton Sioux Census.
----------------------------------------

According to the death certificate for Anastasia Rose Chandler, the daughter of Rose and Charles Chandler, it lists Anastasia's mother's name as "Lillian Bluestone" instead of Rose Stoops or Rose Bluestone. Could it be that Rose's true name was something like "Lillian Rose Stoops"? Rose's mother was Mary Louise Robinson who was first married to Thomas Stoops when she had Anastasia and then to Samuel Bluestone. It sounds as if Rose was raised her entire childhood by her step-father, Samuel Bluestone and used that surname during her adult life just like her daughter Stacia used the name of her step-father, Charles Lightfoot, instead of her biological father, Charles Chandler.

Additionally, alternate forms of the birth certificate for Anastasia show her mother's name merely as Rose Bluestone instead of Lillian Bluestone.
--------------------------------------- 9

bullet  Birth Notes:

The actual birth date for Rosalie is yet unknown. Her 1920 census record suggested 1887; her 1930 census record suggested 1884; researcher Beverly Morgenstern provided a birth date of October 23, 1880; and her gravestone provided the year 1882. The 1940 census would seem to also confirm a year of 1882 in that her age was shown as 57.

NOTE - Their youngest daughter, Hazel, was born metally retarded and is assumed to have been living in a special care facilty when the 1920 census was taken.

This census record shows two of Rose's daughters from her previous marriage to Charles Chandler, who were still living with her, Anastasia and Lillian. I highly suspect that the name of the boarder, Lillian Shantle, is actually Rose's daughter, Lillian Chandler. She should have been listed as "step-daughter" instead of "Other". The name of Anastasia was listed as "daughter" to Charles C. Lightfoot when actually she was a step-daughter. It is not clear why Anastasia would be listed with a Lightfoot surname while her sister, Lillian, would be listed with a Chandler or Shantle surname.

If two of Rose's children from her first marriage are living with her, what happened to the middle child, Adeline? Apparently she was still alive because later she married Dunaski. If Charles Chandler were still alive after the divorce from Rose, perhaps Adeline was living with him.

bullet  Marriage Notes:

Following the divorce from Rosalie's first husband, she apparently used her maiden name of Stoops when she married Charles Lightfoot. At the time, she still had at least two of her children with her, Lillian and Stacia, who appear with them on the 1920 US Census. The marriage license shows Rose's half-sister, Emily F. Bluestone, as a witness.
