• His obituary was published in the Plymouth Pilot on 1 May 1978 in Plymouth, IN.

Chester Floyd Gantz, 76, an Argos native and 1930 Plymouth High School graduate, died Thursday at Torhenburg, Germany, where he and his wife were with a tour group.

Mr. Gantz was born April 28, 1912 at Argos to Chester and Etta Gantz. He was married to Frances Adams at Fort Wayne, where he moved in 1931. He was an employee of International Harvester until his retirement in 1977.

Also surviving are three children: Kenneth of De Moines, Richard of Indianapolis, and Barbara of Fort Wayne.

Friends may call Simpson M. E. Church, Fort Wayne, from 2 till 4 PM, Tuesday. Memorial services will be conducted at 7:30 PM at the church. Cremation was scheduled to take place in Germany with the remains to be returned to Fort Wayne.
