bullet  General Notes:

Frank was never married. My father, William Alsup, told me he was well liked by his family. He had a thick country accent, and he was almost illiterate. When my father was a boy, he would read books to Frank. Frank, in turn, would correct my father with his country pronunciations, such as "Eenjine, instead of "Engine"

Frank worked the yearly grain harvest from Oklahoma to Minnesota. According to Uncle Charlie (Chub) , Frank stayed in Rockwell City a couple of fall seasons during grain harvest. (Frank's older brother was Charlie's father, Charles "Les" Alsop. Frank slept in the barn up in the loft. Every day after school, Charlie and his brothers, knowing Frank was having an afternoon nap, would throw ears of corn up in the loft, and then they would run away.

Most of his life, Frank hung out with Edward Grant and Mina Alsup. He is buried next to them at Sunrise Cemetery. Frank rode along with Ed Grant Alsop in the winter wagon migration from Vandalia/Atlanta, IL to Joplin, MO, abt 1905.

FRANK SUPPOSEDLY STOLE A PIECE OF GOLD, OR GAMBLED & WON IT. HE WENT TO PRISON FOR A YEAR.

He died in Sapulpa, OK. I have a photo of a small stone with his name, but no death date. The stone is just to the right of a nice headstone for his brother, Ed Alsup. Also, next to Frank is another stone, which is that of Fred Alsup, the son of Ed Alsup.
