bullet  General Notes:

The 1920 census shows a strange result for the name of Seymour Wacaster in that he is apparently listed twice. Once as a married "inmate" living in Malibu Township, Los Angeles County, California and a second time living with his wife in rural Los Angeles County. The term "inmate" from the 1920 census is misleading because he was a "resident" at the National Home for Disabled Volunteer Soldiers as evidenced by the following citation from 1919. The National Military Home was part of the Malibu Township in 1920. Malibu Township extended from the Ventura County line to Santa Monica and included much more than just the city of Malibu. Also, in the 1920 census all of the residents of the NMH were classified as "inmates".

• He has alternate birth date of 2 May 1862 and a birth location of , Lincoln County, NC.

• Disproven Birth Date: 8 May 1870, North Carolina. Seymore's name appeared on the 1870 Census of June 1st with an age of 2 years. Also on that same census was 3 month old brother Charles. Some researchers show Seymore's birth date to be in 1870 but it would have been impossible for Seymore's birth date to have been in May 1870, otherwise his age should have appeared as 1 month.
