⁸ He was a member of the First United Church of Christ in Sheffield and a deacon of his church. He worked as a welder for Hyster in Kewanee. Also surviving are one son, Steven Whisler of Sheffield; one daughter, Cheryl Taplin of Princeton; one sister Juanita (Clark) Miller of Muscatine, Iowa; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. His parents, three brothers, and five sisters preceded him in death. Services will be at 10 AM Wednesday at the First United Church of Christ in Sheffield, the Rev. Doug Zimmerman officiating. Internment will be in the Sheffield Cemetery. Cremation rites will be accorded. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the services Wednesday at the Church. Memorials may be made to the First United Church of Christ or the Sheffield Rescue Unit. Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Buda is in charge of arrangements.
