William Lincoln Arnsberger ^{1 2 3 4}

   Other names for William were William Arnstberger,⁵ William Ernsberger ⁶ and William Ernstberger.⁷

  Noted events in his life were:

1. Alt. Birth, August 1859, Pennsylvania, United States. ^{1 6 7} This birth year was referenced by his age of 21 on the 1880 US census. It was also referenced by the date given on the 1900 US census. It was also referenced by his age of 60 on the 1920 US census. However, it is not deemed to be a likely birth date because he was not listed with the parents on the 1860 census.

2. Alt. Birth, 12 February 1860, Pennsylvania, United States. This birth date is not deemed likely because he was not listed with the parents on the 1860 US Census. His gravestone has only the year 1860 so perhaps he was born late in 1860.

NOTE - If his birth date was in 1861, then his age should have been 18 or 19 instead of 21.

NOTE - I am not 100% positive that this is the correct person but because his wife was living with their married daughter, Myrtle, it also appears that William was living and boarding with this family in nearby Lancaster County. Both William and Ida indicated on each census record that they were still married.

If his birth date was in 1861, then his age should have been 58 instead of 60.

NOTE - William and his son named William were living in the same dwelling that was occupied by his other married son, Albert, and his family. William Senior's marital status seems to indicate "Widowed" but he was actually divorced from Ida who was living with another family in York.

  Marriage Notes:

Following 1910 and into the 1920s, it seems that William and Ida may have been undergoing a divorce or at least living separately. Each is found in a different location from the other for the 1920 and the 1930 census records. On the 1930 census, with each living separately in York, PA, William indicated that he was widowed while Ida indicated that she was divorced.
