NOTE - The 1870 census indicated his age as 70 giving a birth year of about 1800 which was 10 years after this 1790 census. Note that the 1790 census only indicated a total of 6 males under 16 but I listed a possible 7 male names with the additional note that Peter may have already died. It is equally possible that Peter was still alive for the 1790 census making the name of Jacob an extra one that should not have been counted because he was born after the 1790 census. Therefore, the possible birth year of 1800 may very well be accurate.

Jacob next married Sarah Gardner, daughter of Adam Gardner and Unknown, after 1837. (Sarah Gardner was born on 11 April 1802 in Pennsylvania,⁶ died on 24 March 1870 ⁶ and was buried after 24 March 1870 in Latimore Township, Adams County, PA ⁶.). The cause of her death was Consumption.
