Funeral services for Ivan W. Crees, age 83, of Davenport, will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at Cunnick-Collins Mortuary Chapel in Davenport. Burial with military honors will follow at the Rock Island Arsenal National Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 11 a.m. until service time at the mortuary. Mr. Crees died on Friday, July 25th, 2008, at his home in Davenport.

Ivan Wayne Crees was born on August 5, 1924, to Edgar and Grace (Carney) Crees in Atalissa, Iowa. After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and spent time in both Germany and the European African and Middle Eastern Theater. After fulfilling his military obligations, he returned home to Atalissa where he farmed for a number of years prior to starting his own contracting business in Wilton, Iowa. Ivan's memberships include the Golden Rule Masonic Lodge #24 in Rochester, Iowa where he was a member for over 50 years, and the Davenport American Legion Post #26 where he was an active member of the funeral honor guard.

Survivors include: a Stepson: Steven Enderton of Davenport; and a nephew, Mike Rogers of Chicago. He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
