Andrew Thomas Darner is the son of John J. Darner and Elizabeth (Routzahn) Darner. He was born 28 Jan 1833 and baptized 11 Mar 1833 in the Middletown Reformed Church. His sponsors were his parents.
Andrew Thomas Danner (Darner) is buried in Mount Olivet cemetery, area Q, lot 71. According to the 1880 census for Frederick, Thomas was a turn key at the jail and they lived on Jail Street. The 1900 census showed Lydia as a widow and living on West 6th Street, Frederick, Maryland. The 1910 census for Frederick showed Lydia living with her granddaughter, Ethel Bidle.
According to Edith Staley, daughter of Fannie Danner/lease, Thomas and Lydia owned a saloon in Frederick.
Draft notice for Thomas Danner(Darner) appeared in Valley Register dated 1 Jul 1864.
The death certificate received from the Maryland state archives states the name of Thomas A. Danner instead of Andrew Thomas Danner. It does, however, show the names of his parents as John Darner and Elizabeth Darner. It appears that somewhere along the way, Andrew Thomas Darner changed his name to Thomas Andrew Danner.
