This estimable lady, Elizabeth (Rauthsang) Darner, who was next to the oldest resident in our town, died rather suddenly about 4:30 o'clock last Wednesday afternoon at her residence on Keller's street. If she had lived until today, she would have been 92 years old. Mrs. Darner suffered a stroke of paralysis sometime ago, since which time she had been gradually failing.

The deceased was the widow of John Darner of this vicinity, and she leaves surviving her four sons and two daughters, viz, Messrs. John W. And George Darner of Clark, Ohio; Thomas Darner of Frederick, Samuel M. Darner and Miss Elizabeth Darner of this place (Middletown) and Mrs. Mary Shafer of near Petersville, a deceased daughter, Sara Ann, was the wife of ex-sheriff Thomas H. Willard, and another, the wife of Fred Miller of near Jefferson. She was the mother of ten children and her grandchildren numbered 47. There are also great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren, but of what number, we have not learned.
