John J. Darner, son of Andreas Darner and Anna Maria (Beckenbach) Darner, was born 4 Sep 1789. Baptized 13 Dec 1789 in the reformed church in Middletown, Maryland. Sponsors were John Shafer and Anna Maria. John darner married Elizabeth Routzahn, the daughter of Henrich Routzahn and Mary Magdalena Coleman (Kallman, Coldman). Henrich Routzahn, son of Adam, removed to Green County, Ohio, but his daughter, Elizabeth remained in Maryland and married John Darner. The Maryland archives has recorded in their files that John Darner married Elizabeth Routzahn on 2 Nov 1818 in Frederick County, Maryland. Elizabeth was born 3 Jan 1798. She was baptized in the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Middletown, Maryland, 18 Mar 1798 and was sponsored by Jacob Kallman (Coleman) and wife Elizabeth. John Darner is buried in the cemetery of the Middletown Reformed Church. As a young man he lived on the farm of Daniel Routzahn near Middletown. Elizabeth (Routzahn) Darner died Jan 1890 and is buried in the cemetery of the Middletown Reformed Church with her husband.
