3 Junior Damon Darner, 83, of Zanesville, died at 4:45 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2007, at Good Samaritan Hospital.

He was born June 23, 1923, in Avondale, to the late Lewis and Elizabeth Detterline Darner. He was formerly employed by Mosaic Tile for 13 years, retired from Neff Trucking and was a former member of Riverside Grange and Oddfellows.

Surviving are his wife, Norma Eppley Darner, whom he married July 13, 1947; six sons, Floyd E. (Judy) Darner of Nashport, Bruce L. of Zanesville, Ralph B. (Sherrie) Darner of Centreville, Mich., Rodney W. (Teresa) Darner of Zanesville, Robert A. (Stephanie) Darner of Dublin and Ronald M. Darner of Zanesville; three daughters, Randalynn (Lou) Toalepai of Maryland, Rebecca (Roger) Smith of Zanesville and Ramona J. (Michael) Rush of Zanesville; sister, Elsie Mae Whitehead of Florida; 17 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Floyd Darner.

Calling hours will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, April 20, at DeLong Baker and Lanning Funeral Home, 56 S. Fifth St.
Graveside services are 11 a.m. Saturday, April 21, 2007, at the Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor R. Schildbach officiating.
