³ An 18-year-old Berlin Heights girl died this morning in a traffic accident in Lorain.

Kay Lorainne Lightfoot, a recent graduate of Berlin Heights High School, died en route to St. Joseph's Hospital. Lorain Police said she was a passenger in the car of Paul E. Howard of Amherst.

They were going west on W. Erie St., when Howard lost control of the car and it plowed into a street post at the junction of W. Erie and Ohio 611. The accident is still under investigation.

Howard was treated for shock at St. Joseph's.

She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Lightfoot of Mason Road, Berlin Heights, and had worked since her graduation as a cashier at a Lorain retail store. Her father was recently injured in an industrial accident and is recuperating in Florida. Funeral arrangements are incomplete pending his return to Berlin Heights.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday for Kay Lorraine Lightfoot, 18, of Mason Road, who died Saturday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Lorain as the result of an automobile accident.

Born in Berlin Heights, she had spend her entire life here. She was employed as a cashier at Lorain. She was graduated from Berlin Heights High School in 1966 where she was active in the Dramatic Club of the school. She was a member of the Lakeshore 4-H Club and had received numerous awards for riding and showmanship of horses.

She is survived by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Warren Lightfoot; one half brother, Larry Braun; two sisters, Sally Larkin, and Virginia Wallace, all of rural Berlin Heights.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. today at the Hinman Funeral Home where funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday with the Rev. Osborn Hoover of the Berlin Heights Congregational Church officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Berlin Heights.
