  General Notes:

Roy was born at the homestead in Middletown, Maryland. He married Nannette Marie Woog in 1901 in Baltimore, Maryland, and they lived in Cranford, New Jersey and Brooklyn, New York before moving to Downers Grove, Illinois. They had 6 children: Nannette M., Alfred Roy, Joshua Dawson, Frank Woog, Edgar Shafer, and Roy Mathias. He worked in the Executive Offices of Union Tank Car Company in Chicago, Illinois until his retirement. In 1952, Roy and his wife, Nannette, moved to Greensboro, North Carolina, where their son, Frank and family had been transferred with Western Electric. He died in Greensboro on his 72nd birthday in 1952, and is buried at Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery in Middletown, Maryland.
