It is interesting to note that the Death Certificate states that Charles was married at the time of his death with a spouse named Emma. Unless the Death Certificate's notation was an error, Charles must have remarried at an approximately age of at lest 59 years. The 1920 census still shows him as a widower so perhaps the 2nd marriage didn't occur until sometime between 1920-1924 when he was at least 62 years old. My suspicion is that the Death Certificate is in error in that he had no spouse when he died. Both Charles and Lydia are buried in the same family plot in Olney Cemetery in Pendleton, Oregon.
