• His obituary was published in April 1981 in Vinita, OK. 2 K. O. "Orville" Lightfoot, 70, died Saturday at a local hospital following a long illness.
He was born in the Kelso District, north of Vinita, on Dec. 17, 1910, and was a lifetime resident of the Vinita area. He was a retired farmed and stockman.
Lightfoot was married to Margaret Bowman on April 23, 1939, at Fairland. He was a member of the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Vinita.
Survivors included his wife, Margaret, of the home at 504 N. Gunter; one daughter, Mrs. Myra Jo Harper, and three grandchildren, Christina, Michelle, and James Harper, all of Rt. 1, Vinita.
Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Burckhalter Memorial Chapel with Elders Robert Lightfoot and Bert Parkhurst officiating.
Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of the Burckhalter Funeral Home, Vinita.

"By the way, Oscar's just younger brother, Kenneth Orville Lightfoot and his wife, Margaret, had one daughter, Myra Jo Lightfoot just a year older than Sondra and me and Myra Jo is still living. She is on Facebook, too and we keep in touch occasionally. She was married to a Robert Harper who passed away in 2010, and they lived around Vinita or Ketchum, Ok area.
My sister, Lavon Hightower Lewis, started a FB page called "You Might Be From Vinita If..." August 2011 and we have about 2000 members now... talking about old times and current goings-ons, sharing photos, newspaper items, history.. Lots of good talks."
