bullet  Birth Notes:

Some mis-information is given on the Find-A-Grave website for Charles. It states that he was born in Trempealeau, Trempealeau County, Wisconsin in 1851 but Trempealeau County was not founded until 1854. Where the town of Trempealeau currently exists was part of La Crosse county prior to 1854. This means that the birth location of Charles John Perkins should have been recorded as being in La Crosse County, Wisconsin and not Trempealeau County.

bullet  Death Notes:

The Find A Grave web site indicates that Charles died in (the town of )Trempealeau due to a railroad accident. The actual newspaper article from 1913 indicates that the accident was "several miles below" Trempealeau. Therefore his correct death location was in rural Trempealeau County and not within the village or town limits of Trempealeau.

KILLED AT TREMPEALEAU
While going to work in company with four other bridge carpenters, Charles Perkins, sixty-three years old, was instantly killed several miles below Trempealeau yesterday, when the car upon which he was riding was struck by passenger train No. 50. His four companions had jumped in time to save themselves, but Perkins was slightly deaf and failed to jump to safety. The mangled body was taken to the residence at Trempealeau, where he had resided for a good number of years. He is survived by a wife, three sons and three daughters.

bullet  Marriage Notes:

Charles and Adeline were first married in Trempealeau County, Wisconsin in 1879 but their first son was born in Minnesota in 1881. After that they seemed to have moved to Minnesota and then back across the Mississippi River to Wisconsin. The result is that some of their children were born in Wisconsin while others were born in Minnesota without any direct correlation as to where the family may have been living at the time. This suggests that Adeline may have been staying with her relatives during the later parts of one or more of her pregnancies.
