The following comes from an untitled paper received from Dorothy Damewood Rands in August 1998. This was written by Agnes May Miller Rands, who apparently authored the other family material on Rands and Miller ancestors.

I was born at Poplar, Idaho June 17, 1897. My parents were Robert William Miller, mother Nellie Hawley Miller. I graduated from Poplar grade school with the first graduation class the school ever had. I attended one year high school at Rigby, Idaho. I worked three and a half years. I helped with the bookkeeping and clerked at the Golden Rule store, Ririe, Idaho. June 20, 1917 I married Clarence Raymond Rands at my parents' home, Ririe, Idaho. We lived on a farm on Butler Island. Had five sons and four daughters. Clarence died January 18, 1955. In June I moved to Portland, Oregon. I worked for Rex and Eleanor Reid for eleven years. I have just finished my eleventh year at Kaufmanns (Victor and Marilyn). I am eighty-three years old. June 1980.
