NOTE - The 1880 census record clearly shows "John Lightfoot" at an age of only one month. The gravestone of Clarence Lightfoot indicates a birth date of April 1880 which would make him about 1 month old at the time of the census, yet his name does not appear on the 1880 census record as Clarence. Perhaps his full name was Clarence John Lightfoot or John Clarence Lightfoot. A son born later on 2 Dec 1884 was then named John Henry Lightfoot.

• He appeared on the 1900 US Census in Carterville, MO on 1 June 1900. 2

• He was buried after 5 June 1905 in the Carterville Cemetery in Carterville, MO.

Clarence's gravestone is a large block of an off white limestone with a carved open bible at the top and a flat vertical face in the front. On the front there is a large emblem of the Knights and Ladies of Security followed by the inscription which reads "Clarence S., son of E. A. & E. M. Lightfoot, Apr. 20, 1880 - June 5, 1905. At the bottom base is the name LIGHTFOOT carved in large block letters in relief.
