NOTE - Because John was not born until 1873, this 1870 census record can not be for him. One name was left out from the list of children and therefore it is my belief that this record should apply to William. His name would be the next sequential name of the list of children. The age does not quite match but none of the ages on the 1870 record match therefore I believe that the enumerator obtained all of the names and ages from a well meaning neighbor who only guessed at the ages and probably mixed up the name of William by calling him John. My only proof of this is the fact that of all the names, none have any middle names or middle initials, something that seems unusual in itself. (Brian L. Lightfoot)
