Emery Culler and Miss Helen Tucker of Shreve, were married at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tucker, Wednesday, June 12, by pastor, the Rev. R. J. Platter, in the presence of the immediate families and Miss Gale Rogers of Shreve. they have the best wishes of their many friends, who wish them much success and happiness. Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Culler entertained the bride and groom at their home Thursday, June 13. Those present were the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Tucker, her grandmother, Mrs. Joseph Doty, Miss Ruth and Paul tucker and Mrs. John Camel of Lexington. The day was very much enjoyed by all.

Celebrants--An open house reception will be held next Sunday afternoon in observance of Mr. and Mrs. Emery Culler's Golden Wedding Anniversary. Friends and relatives will be received from 2:30 to 5 p.m. at the couple home on Route 39, east of Lucas. Mr. Culler, a retired farmer, and the former Miss Helen Tucker were married on June 12, 1918, at the home of the brides parents in Shreve by the Rev. Robert S. Platter. Their children are the Rev. G. Duane Culler, of Centerville; Loren E. Culler of New York City, and Paul L. Culler, of Rochester, New York. another son, Sgt. Donald R. Culler, was killed during world War II. Mr. Culler has served on both the Lucas and Richland County boards of education. They re the grandparents of seven children. The celebrants have requested gifts be omitted.

Emery C. Culler, 82, of RD 1, Lucas, died Saturday evening in his home of an apparent heart attack. The son of Martin and Elizabeth (Mowers) Culler, he was born February 23, 1889, on the Culler farm, east of Lucas where he spent his entire life-time. He retired from farming in 1958. Being active in the field of education for 29 years, he served as clerk and a member of the Lutheran Board of Education and had been a member of the Richland County Board of Education. He was a member of the Lucas Club and the Mt. Zion Lutheran Church near Lucas. Mr. Culler had served on the church council for many years and was president of the building committee for the construction of the Mt. Zion Church in 1948.
Survivors include his widow, Helen (Tucker) Culler; three sons, Rev. Duane Culler of Centerville, Loren Culler of New York City, New York and Paul Culler of Waldwick, New Jersey and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Donald, in September, 1944. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Mr. Zion Lutheran Church with rev. Jay Brown officiating. burial will be in the Mr. Zion Cemetery.
