• His obituary was published in the Chronicle-Tribune on 13 November 2003 in Marion, IN.

1 WABASH - Calvin Lee Lawyer, 63, 3322 S. 300W, died at 7:07 a.m. Wednesday in Indiana University Medical Center, Indianapolis.

He had worked as a pastor at Wabash Church of the Brethren. He also worked at Wabash Healthcare Center and C.F.S., Urbana.

Survivors: wife, Theresa children Jonathan, Urbana, Venita, Fort Wayne, and Nathan, Hixson, Tenn. and four grandchildren.

Services: 11 a.m. Saturday in Grandstaff-Hentgen Main Street Chapel, 86 E. Main St., with the Rev. David Phillips officiating. Burial: Friends Cemetery.

Visitation: 4-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Liver Foundation or the Indiana Organ Procurement Association.

• His obituary was published in the Plain Dealer after 12 November 2003 in Wabash, IN.

He married Theresa Martin in Creagerston, Maryland, on July 23, 1961.

In Maryland he taught Industrial Arts, Research and Development for the Gifted and Talented, and directed a vocational school media center. He was a Church of the Brethren pastor for eight years, his last two at the Wabash Church of the Brethren. He was a dietary supervisor and chaplain for Wabash Healthcare Center for 10 years, and worked part time at C.F.S. in Urbana for four years. He moved to Wabash County October 31, 1978 from North Carolina.

He was a member of the Iota Lambda Sigma Honorary Fraternity, National Wildlife Foundation, Friends of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, American Liver Foundation, and a life member of the N.R.A. He was an active member of the Indiana Organ Procurement Organization. He liked woodworking and hunting, was an avid model railroader, and enjoyed traveling and his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Jonathan (Lisa) Lawyer of Urbana and Nathan (Christina) Lawyer of Hixson, Tennessee; a daughter, Venita Lawyer of Fort Wayne; and four grandsons, Christopher Brown of Wabash, Justin and Ethan Lawyer of Urbana, and Cody Lawyer of Hixson, Tennessee.

Arrangements by Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Home, Wabash IN. Preferred memorials are to the American Liver Foundation or Indiana Organ Procurement Association.
