• His obituary was published in the Tipton Advertiser after 18 January 1931 in Tipton, IA.

19 Andrew D. Linn, Prominent County Resident, Passes

In the passing of Andrew D. Linn of Iowa township last Thursday, Cedar county loses another of its esteemed pioneer citizens. Mr. Linn had been ill but a few days, and his death was a shock to his many friends and acquaintances over the county.

Andrew D. Linn, son of Moses and Hannah Linn, was born in Cedar Co., Iowa, January 17, 1861, and passed away at Mercy hospital in Iowa City, January 15, 1931, being at the time of his death 69 years, 11 months and 28 days of age. His death followed an operation for gallstones.

Mr. Linn had lived, with the exception of a few years, on the farm which his father purchased in Iowa township. He was married to Kate Wymer on Feb. 14, 1882. She preceded him in death March 2, 1918. To this union six children were born, two dying in infancy. He was married to Elizabeth A. Wood, on Oct. 4, 1922. She is left to mourn his departure, together with four children: John W. Linn and Mildred M. Richards, of Tipton; Earl A. of West Branch, IA; and Chloe L. Smith of Mt. Pleasant, Iowa. He also leaves thirteen grandchildren and one sister, Loretta Lightfoot, of Eau Claire, Wis.

Services were held at the home last Sunday at two o'clock p.m., Rev. G. W. Harvey of West Branch officiating. Music was furnished by the male quartet of Tipton. Burial was in Pedee cemetery nearby. Golden Rule Lodge No. 24 of the Masonic Order had charge of the services at the grave.

Card of Thanks

We wish to express our sincere appreciation of the kindnesses of the many friends and neighbors in the hour of our bereavement.

Mrs. Elizabeth Linn, John W. Linn, Mildred M. Richards, Earl A. Linn, Chloe L. Smith, and Grandchildren.
